This review is from: CyberPower CP600LCD Intelligent LCD UPS 600VA 340W Compact (Electronics)
This product arrived quickly and well packaged. It looks well made and has a nice look to it. I work at home from a company laptop and have had a few power hits recently that last just a few seconds but that are long enough to take my modem, wireless router and OOMA phone device down. My laptop is ok, due to the built in battery, but I lose all connectivity and it takes several minutes to get everything back to 'normal'. This is something that is not acceptable in my type of work. So I bought this UPS to prevent such hiccups and to give me at least 30 minutes of working time in case of a prolonged commercial power outage. This unit has already exceeded my expectations. I rewired all of my devices thru this unit on May 4. This included the router, modem, OOMA, 2 cordless phones and laptop. I tested for quick hits that night by pulling the plug from the wall several times and the transition to battery power was seamless. As luck would have it, on May 6, my area had a six hour power... 3.0 out of 5 stars Couple of things you should know, September 30, 2011
I just purchased this UPS from another retailer, so I can't comment on reliability yet. But here are a few things I noticed:

Negatives:
* The LCD display goes off after 60 seconds if you don't push any buttons. No way to make it stay on (unlike the Tripplite G1010USB).
* There is no contrast adjustment on the LCD display (unlike the Tripplite G1010USB which has a way more readable display)
* A single momentary press of the silver power button shuts off your battery-backed equipment. The whole point of having a UPS is to prevent connected equipment from losing power, but it's way too easy for someone to hit this power button and shut everything off, especially when trying to silence the beeper. Competitors require the power button to be held in for a second or two.)
* The output power quality is too poor to cascade to another UPS (not a believable sine-wave approximation).
* Unlike some APC UPS's, the input sensitivity is non-adjustable (and... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Device, March 26, 2009

I live in a rural area on the top of a mountain. Electrical Service, unfortunately, is frequently interupted, usually for a few seconds only. But when it is, it can happen at very inconvenient times. Additionally, power surges, while not frequent, do happen, particularly during electrical storms. This means that my electronic equipment needs to be protected. I have 2 desktop computers in my home, both in constant use and both need a 24 hour internet connection.

I use a total of 3 Cyberpower UPS devices, along with additional Surge Protecters to protect my computers and other electronic appliances (including Televisions, DVRs, etc.). While neighbors have experienced major problems, the only problem I have experienced is a blown Surge Protecter (which obviously did it's job).

The model UPS shown has surge protection of (I believe)a bit over 1000 joules. This should usually be enough, but I use additional protection (rated 4200 joules) because of the location of my... Read more
